TRAI again limits 100 SMS per day, extra charges for beyond the limit

The TRAI again limits 100 SMS per day using SMS packs, but a minimum amount of 50 paise per SMS would be charged for SMS beyond that limit. Operators has to implement this within fifteen days.

TRAI has also asked the operators to inform the customers about, not to use their number for sending commercial SMS. And also operators has to take a written consent in the Customer Acquisition form that they would not use the number of sending Commercial SMS.

  1. if trai really want to do something they should make some effective rules against companies charging unwanted value added services (VAS). Rural public doesn't really know when there prepaid balance is gone.
