Samsung Galaxy Gear (Smart Watch) announced at IFA


Samsung Galaxy Gear smart watch finally went official at the IFA 2013 event in Berlin, Germany. The Galaxy Gear was one of the most expected devices at the Samsung Unpacked 2. Galaxy Gear smart watch comes with a 1.63inch 320×320 pixels AMOLED display.

In terms of design, the front of the Galaxy Gear is dominated by the display and it is surrounded by metal frame (unusual for Samsung). The strap on the smart watch is made of rubber and as predicted by the rumors, there is a camera that is built onto the strap. The Galaxy Gear isn’t anything on its own and it mainly serves as a companion for your smartphone. The Galaxy Gear is connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth.

Since only the latest version of Android (4.3 Jellybean) supports Low energy bluetooth profile, the number of compatible devices is expected to be limited at launch.

When connected to a smartphone, the Galaxy Gear will have the ability to receive calls, take voice memos and it will display all the notifications from your smartphone.

There is no word on pricing yet, but the Galaxy Gear will be launching along with Galaxy Note 3 on September 25th across 140 countries.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 announced, shipping starts from Sept 25


Samsung has just announced the third iteration of their successful premium phablet series – Galaxy Note 3. The Galaxy Note 3 was announced at the IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany. The Galaxy Note 3 comes with a 5.7inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. Just like their flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3 will come in two variants – the international variant sporting the Exynos Octa chipset and the USA variant sporting the Snapdragon 800 SoC. Both the variants will come with 3GB RAM and will have 16/32/64GB variants and a microSD card slot.

Like the usual Samsung premium devices, the Galaxy Note 3 is packed with a plethora of software features that include Samsung’s trademark Multi-Window, Smart Stay, Smart scroll, smart rotate, S-Beam, Air View. Like any other Note device, the Note 3 will also come with Samsung’s S-Pen stylus which is advanced. It will come with Samsung’s latest Samsung Knox for security features.

HTC Desire 600 Dual SIM launched in India @ INR 26860


HTC has official launched Desire 600 Dual SIM in India. It was announced back in May and went on sale in India earlier this month.  It has a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) pixels super LCD2 display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8625Q processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) . It has a 8-megapixel camera on the back with LED flash, BSI sensor and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera with BSI sensor.

It has Dual SIM support with dual active SIMs that allows you to have two SIM cards active all the times, enabling you to receive a call on first SIM, even if you are already using the other.

It has HTC BlinkFeed home screen that aggregates social streams and news, providing the freshest content at a glance and gets global content from more than 1,400 media sources. The Video Highlights feature automatically creates professional-looking 30-second show reels without the need for advanced editing software. World top brand device maker: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 310 and Tab 3 311 launched in India for INR 21945 and INR 25725


Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab 3 310 (SM-T310) and the Galaxy Tab 3 311 (SM-T311), 2 new tablets in India at an event in Delhi. It was announced last month as Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and packs a 8-inch (1280×800) IPS LCD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.5GHz dual core processor  and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) with Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI on top. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Unlike the Galaxy Note 510, this doesn’t come with stylus support. The Tab 3 310 is the WiFi-only variant and the Tab 3 311 comes with 3G support via SIM card slot and voice calling capabilities.

It has Samsung’s Sound Alive for Audio and Dolby Surround for Video for enhanced multimedia experience. It comes with other Samsung’s unique software features such as S Translato, ChatON cross-platform messenger, S Travel, Story Album, Group Play and more.

Lenovo unveiled the IdeaPad A1000 at the MWC 2013 earlier this year. Now the tablet is available from the official Lenovo online store in India. It has a  7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core MediaTek MTK8317 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a SIM card slot with 2G data support and voice calling capabilities. It has large, dual front-facing speakers that would offers enhanced audio experience for music or movies along with Dolby Digital Plus support.

ZTE Open - Firefox OS device


ZTE Open first commercial Firefox OS device goes on sale in Spain

Mozilla partnered with several operators worldwide to bring devices running on Firefox OS. Now the Telefónica has launched the ZTE Open in Spain that was unveiled at the MWC 2013. It is now on sale from Movistar stores in Spain priced at 69 Euros (~US$90) (inc. VAT). It also comes with 30 Euros of balance for prepaid customers.

Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is going to be unveiled at CES 2013



Corning, makers of the popular toughened glasses for smart devices have announced that they would showcase Gorilla Glass 3 at CES 2013 next week. The company unveiled the Gorilla Glass 2 at CES 2012 that was used in range of popular smartphones of 2012 including the Google Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S3, Nokia Lumia 920 and lots more.

The company would demonstrate the toughness of the Gorilla Glass 3 and also showcase the benefits of Corning Gorilla Glass in larger format, multi-touch displays. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 would be tougher than the earlier versions with Native Damage Resistance (NDR), 40 percent improvement in scratch resistance and is also expected to be more slimmer. The company would also unveil Thunderbolt Optical Cable at the event next week.

Corning would unveil the Gorilla Glass 3 on Monday, 7th January 2013 at CES in Las Vegas.
